In KTLK, the car failing on the way to Baba house alternatively could have been shot this way:

Ashu & Niddhi traveling in the car...it fails. Niddhi worried...Ashu notices, tells her not to worry and steps out. Niddhi watches him walking to the front of the car and he opens the hood, she watches as the hood goes up and covers him. Now she can't see him anymore cause he is behind the hood.

She starts feeling uneasy as she cannot see him and feels the loneliness...dark night, jungle etc....sound of crickets...(all very normal and gentle not like a horror film)

Cut to a shot of him working (confidently at the engine of the car, not like a mechanical challenged fool) and she appears.

He is surprised, says' "Whats the matter? Its cold outside, you should stay in the car."

Niddhi: I was feeling uneasy, actually scared.

Ashu: Nothing to be scared about, I am right here...

Niddhi: Yeah....... but I couldn't see you.....

Ashu reacts realizing the vulnerability of Niddhi...the child like quality, far removed form the brash outspoken intern.

(Its a warm moment of realization for Ashu) enhanced by gentle background music.

Ashu: Hold on a moment...

He goes to the car & comes back with his jacket and places it very gently on Niddhi's shoulders. She sees this as a caring gesture of a mature and dependable man. (Another moment .... )

He goes back to working on the car, while Niddhi is looking at him with a subtle affection and appreciation. He is oblivious to her looking at him.

While looking at him, she wraps the jacket tighter around herself ... to feel warmer from the cold (or is it to be enveloped in his jacket) .... When she does this, she doesn't realize it...its only for the viewing audience. (The BG score now starts Saiyan Nano ki Bhasha....)

He, in his usual unromantic way starts talking about whats wrong with the car, basically inane stuff that is not romantic at all... Niddhi's expression now at hearing this nonsensical mechanical talk starts changing from the previous romantic expression to "Oh well, here we go again...what oh what have I fallen in love with!!!"

Ashu turns to glance at her as he gets no reaction from her to his chatting...he stops talking and looks at her a short while and turns back to working at the car.

After another brief silence & then Ashu while continuing to work on the car, very casually says:

Ashu: That jacket looks good on you........

Niddhi's face gently starts breaking into a smile...she is reminded of her first week in the hospital when she had worn Ashu's jacket and he had rudely told her it didn't quite fit her..... (We show this as a brief flashback from Niddhi POV)

The Niddhi flashback is broken by the sound of the hood of the car being shut.

Ashu: Chalo, all done...lets go...

He walks to her side of the car, opens the door for her, settles her in and then settles himself behind the driver's seat...We show that while he walks from her side to his, from in front of the car...he never takes his eyes off her & nor does she....He has a slight warm smile on his face.

He gets in & Niddhi, again in her usual self says:Niddhi: Great, now we can go see your Baba's house.

Ashu: (After a brief thought) No...some other day...its late & your Baba will be worried.

Niddhi realizes that this man not only cares for her but for her Baba ie her family...it attracts her even more to his maturity and the concern he displays. It also establishes to the audience that at a future time, Ashu will be very concerned regards Nddhi's Baba's reaction at their relationship...and that may be a cause for concern...

They drive to Niddhi's house where Rohan meets them & takes Niddhi in where Dadi Bua thinks Rohan is the correct march etc etc.
